When Astrea An's home planet, Voltare 5, becomes uninhabitable due to its dying sun, she escapes in a small spaceship built by her late father. Alone and with only star charts to guide her, she embarks on a journey to the new world. But before she can get there, the ship malfunctions and crashes on Earth where she is taken in by a kindly old blind man.

She begins a new life, hoping to simply blend in with the other inhabitants of the planet. But that was not to be. One day, she witnesses a purse snatching and without even thinking, gives chase to the robber and catches him. After receiving much gratitude and praise for her heroic act, she is inspired to use her unusual powers to make a difference in her community and takes on the superhero name, Golden Huntress.
